girl power
Girl Power. An implementation project in the focus area 'Strong and proud community' which will be carried out from autumn '25 - autumn '27.
About the project
The purpose of the Tjejkraft project is to strengthen girls' self-confidence and increase their retention in football after the age of 16 by creating safe, inclusive and equal sports environments. The goal is to establish long-term structures such as mentorship and networks, reach at least 250 girls aged 13–19 and develop working methods that live on after the end of the project. The project is a collaboration between the football clubs in Torsby, Arvika, Hagfors and Sunne municipality.
To achieve this, the project will implement mentoring programs where older players act as role models, arrange networking meetings with training, workshops and inspirational lectures, and offer leadership training with a focus on gender equality and inclusive leadership. The work also includes collaboration between associations, activities in school environments and the production of common material to strengthen identity and dissemination of results.
The project also contributes to strengthening cooperation between football clubs, schools and municipalities in northern Värmland and to making women's football visible as an important part of the region's identity. By building sustainable networks and meeting places, the conditions are created for a long-term commitment where both participants and leaders continue to develop even after the project ends.
