This is how it goes
With us at the Leader Office, associations, organizations, municipalities, and others can apply for support for a project to develop the rural area or locality where we live and operate. Companies can also apply for support through leader, but you cannot apply as a private individual. The size of the support depends, among other things, on how public-spirited the project is.
Four steps to your project
A project is a process with four different steps. To begin with, there must be a development idea, something that can be refined and summarized into a concrete project, and a formal project application must be written. After that, the project, if approved, should be implemented according to the conditions and regulations that exist. Finally, the project should be completed and reported.
Step 1
Get started
The project idea should fit into the development strategy and should be carried out in collaboration with others, and the result should benefit more than those who carry out the project.
The staff at the leader office is a support in the application process and wants to be part of your project idea before you submit your project application.
Step 2
Write application
After an expression of interest has been made and the leader office has received your presentation, we first discuss the idea and assess whether it fits within the Leader 7-sams development strategy.
We will get back to you within 1-2 weeks. It may also happen that we instead book a meeting with you to discuss the idea further.
Step 3
Implement
Now it is time to leave the starting blocks and turn the idea into reality! You can start the project before you have received a formal decision from the Swedish Board of Agriculture, but it will be at your own risk.
We at the leader office are with you throughout the implementation. We will have follow-up meetings and offer support for applications for payments and anything else that may arise along the way.
Step 4
Finish
Congratulations on a successful project!
When the project is completed, it is time to apply for the final payment and report on the project. The final report consists of 2-3 parts that you should fill out and submit.

Is the project's working method and distribution of tasks designed so that women and men have equal opportunities to influence the project's design, participate in the implementation, and benefit from the project's results?

Should the project be carried out in collaboration between at least two of the sectors: non-profit, private, and public?
Broad benefit
Will the project's expected results be of broad benefit, i.e., involve improvements/development for more than those who carry out the project?
Implementation capacity
Do you have an organized co-financing and plan for how the project could be implemented practically?
Innovative thinking
Should the project be used to create development in various ways – not to support already existing operations?
Non-discrimination
Have you considered openness and non-discrimination? It is an absolute requirement that no one is prevented from influencing the project's design, participating in the implementation, or benefiting from the project's results due to gender, ethnic affiliation, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
