With us, you can apply for financial support for the implementation of projects that align with our development strategy and fall within one of our four focus areas: Strong & Proud community, Destination 7-sam Värmland, Development & Learning, and Smart Solutions & Brave Entrepreneurs.

Strong & Proud community

To create a more attractive countryside to live in and visit, efforts are needed to increase cohesion, provide a greater range of community services, and create increased enjoyment and activity outside urban areas. The focus area strong and proud community aims to utilize the resources and competencies of rural areas. Create development efforts that not only make the area more attractive to visitors and attract new residents but also strengthen the belief in one's community, increase togetherness, and create proud inhabitants.

Here, initiatives aimed at strengthening the area's identity and attractiveness for both individuals and entrepreneurs as well as associations and other organizations are included.

Below are examples of possible areas for project initiatives:

  • Create cross-border collaborations between different businesses, rural areas, and other geographical regions
  • Create, develop, and adapt physical and digital meeting places and forums
  • Establish and develop community functions and community services in rural areas
  • Organize, coordinate, and facilitate for rural actors
  • Activities and meeting places for children and youth
  • Initiatives for increased cohesion and integration

Destination 7-sam

The area's natural and cultural resources are important for the area's attractiveness for both residents and those working as well as visitors. The tourism industry generates revenue and jobs in the area. The focus area Destination 7-sam Värmland aims to develop, elevate, and create more destinations and attractions through the utilization of natural and cultural resources.

Additionally, aims to increase the accessibility of nature with more opportunities to move around in the area. Here, initiatives aimed at attracting more visitors, but also preserving and developing cultural heritage, are included.

Below are examples of possible areas for project initiatives:

  • Establish new and develop existing tourist destinations
  • Establishment and restoration of natural and cultural environments
  • Create new or restore sections of marked, accessible hiking, cycling, riding, or snowmobile trails

Development & Learning

A problem evident throughout the area is the availability of sought-after labor. Skills supply is also an issue in other types of businesses, organizations, and associations.

To meet the needs, the focus area development and learning aims to raise competence and create learning opportunities that meet demand. This can involve theoretical learning opportunities, practical exercises, or pure exchanges of experience.

Below are examples of possible areas for project initiatives:

  • Exchanges of experience between different industries and businesses
  • Collaboration between different actors in educational initiatives to create and preserve jobs
  • Competence-enhancing initiatives that develop and strengthen voluntary activities
  • Educational opportunities that are not available in the area and are not funded by other entities

Smart solutions & brave entrepreneurs

The innovative power and entrepreneurial spirit in the area is one of the most important components for local development. The area aims to promote local producers, goods and services, more collaborating local businesses, and other initiatives that strengthen local production.

In the intervention area smart solutions and brave entrepreneurs support can be provided for both establishment initiatives and for those who want to develop their operations in the leader area. There is also room for innovative ideas and smart solutions.

Below are examples of possible areas for project initiatives:

  • Create new jobs
  • Solutions to problems for a community, business, or organization
  • Development initiatives of a community, business, or organization that create value for the area's residents
  • New collaborations between different entrepreneurs, industries, and actors
  • New service, product, or process
  • Innovative natural resource utilization

Will the project's expected results be of broad benefit, i.e., involve improvements/development for more than those who carry out the project?

Implementation capacity

Do you have an organized co-financing and plan for how the project could be implemented practically?

Innovative thinking

Should the project be used to create development in various ways – not to support already existing operations?

Non-discrimination

Have you considered openness and non-discrimination? It is an absolute requirement that no one is prevented from influencing the project's design, participating in the implementation, or benefiting from the project's results due to gender, ethnic affiliation, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
