Steel Power – Munkfors mill in VR environment. An implementation project in the focus area ’strong and proud community’ carried out from December ’23 – September ’24.
About the project
From December 2023 until September 2024, the economic association Skildra in Munkfors is running the project ”Steel Power – Munkfors mill as a VR environment.”.
The project owners aim to recreate the historical environment at the Old Mill in Munkfors as it appeared around the year 1900. By collecting both oral and written testimonies through interviews, they will lay the foundation for a captivating visual and cinematic experience in VR format. Through skilled animation, advanced programming, and inspiring music composition, they will create a VR production beyond the ordinary.
The project's goal and purpose are to build a VR environment that allows you to experience the mill's heyday up close. This initiative will not only increase local pride but also communicate the historical value of the place to a younger generation, which can otherwise be difficult to reach.
