Värmland Recipe Pantry

Värmland recipe pantry. A collaboration project between Leader 7-sam and Leader Närheten that is carried out from November ’23 – November ’26.

About the project

From November 2023 until November 2026, Sara Bodin Olsson is leading the project ”Värmland Recipe Pantry”. The project receives shared support from Leader 7-sam and Leader Närheten in this collaboration project to cover almost all of Värmland.

The goal of the project is to find, document, and spread at least 350 old Värmland recipes. These recipes should be usable by food companies, food artisans, non-profit organizations, the local tourism industry, and individuals interested in Värmland's food culture.

The project leader will visit many places and people in Värmland during the project period to collect material, which will then be documented on a website freely accessible to the public.

The historical recipes that will be developed are primarily based on crops grown in Värmland. This also benefits local food production. The project leader wants to encourage more people to cook dishes such as potato cakes, Värmland soup, resk, and skrädmjöls waffles, thereby reviving these historical Värmland recipes.
